Privacy Policy

Freezer Fox — published by Fezanur Başkesen, an individual developer based in Türkiye trading as Tofe Software · Last updated 18 August 2026

Freezer Fox helps you keep track of what is in your freezer and reminds you before food loses its best quality. This policy explains what the app collects, how it is used, and what your choices are. By using the app you agree to this policy.

There is no account. You never give us a name, an email address, or a password.

We do not track you. No advertising, no advertising identifiers, no data sold or shared with data brokers, no cross-app or cross-site tracking.

What you type stays yours. Food names, nicknames, invite codes and freezer identifiers are never sent to our analytics.

1. Information we collect

The app is designed to work without your name, email or any account. Specifically:

We do not collect your location, contacts, calendar, health data or photo library. The camera and photo picker open only when you ask, and the app receives only the single picture you choose. There is no advertising in the app.

2. How we use it, and why we are allowed to

We use this data to run the app: to show your inventory, schedule your reminders, calculate your waste rate, and keep shared freezers in sync. Because we are based in Türkiye and serve users in Europe, two laws apply — Türkiye’s KVKK (Law No. 6698) and, for users in the EEA and the UK, the GDPR. Our legal grounds are performance of a contract for your freezer and everything in it (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b); KVKK Art. 5(2)(c)) and legitimate interests for usage analytics, subscription reporting and for the abuse checks that keep the service available (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f); KVKK Art. 5(2)(f)). You can switch analytics off at any time in Settings → Usage analytics; that switch covers both usage analytics and subscription reporting, and while it is off no data reaches either service.

We do not profile you and make no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. The best-quality date is a simple lookup from published food storage guidance — it says nothing about you.

3. Third-party services

We do not sell your data and do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.

4. Sharing a freezer

A freezer can be shared with up to four people. Anyone who has the invite code can join, and every member can see and change everything in that freezer, including photos and the history of what was eaten or thrown away. Share the code only with people you trust — removing someone from the member list ends their access immediately.

5. Storage, transfers and retention

Local data lives on your device and is removed when you delete the app. Cloud data is stored on Google’s infrastructure and may be processed on servers outside Türkiye, the EEA and the UK; for those transfers Google’s terms incorporate the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, and transfers under KVKK are made on the grounds permitted by Article 9 of that law. Subscription events are processed by RevenueCat in the United States on the same basis: its data processing addendum incorporates the Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum.

Your freezer and everything in it stay until they are deleted. In the app, open Settings → Delete my freezer: if other people are still members you simply leave and their data stays; if you are the last member, the freezer, its items, its history and its photos are deleted. Deleting the app removes only the copy on your device, not the copy on the server. Analytics events expire automatically after the retention window set in our Firebase project.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask whether we process your data and request a copy; have inaccurate data corrected or your data erased; restrict processing or receive your data in a portable form; and object to processing based on our legitimate interests — for analytics you can do that yourself, immediately, with the switch in Settings. These are the rights in Article 11 of the KVKK and Articles 15–22 of the GDPR. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days, usually sooner.

One honest limitation. The app has no accounts, so an email address does not tell us which freezer is yours, and we will not hand over or delete someone’s data on an unverified claim. If you can open the app, in-app deletion is the fastest and most certain route. If you cannot, write to us with your invite code.

Complaints. Please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in Türkiye the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK); in the EEA the authority of the country where you live or work; in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office.

7. Children

Freezer Fox is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where the change is significant, mentioned in the app.
